Hey friend! I’m so very excited about our upcoming session together! It’s truly an honor that you chose ME to photograph YOUR family! I hope by now you have your outfit selections made and that you are gathering any final pieces or accessories! Below you will find a few helpful tips on how we can make the most of our time together!
HAVE FUN! Your session should be fun and interactive! I hope to capture some laughter, some poses and some candid moments. Your kids are going to act like kids, and that’s ok. They don’t stress me out - and they shouldn’t stress you out during the session either! If you see me trying to get your child's attention, it’s always ok to step in - if they aren’t listening to me.
BRIBERY & PARTICIPATION. I believe in bribery for family photos. Offer your kids (and dad) something fun if they will listen and participate in the pictures. I promise, it works! If it costs you a special toy, a trip for ice cream or some candy at the end of the session, it’s always worth it. I always think it’s helpful to tell your spouse that these images are a gift to you, something you will treasure and hold near to your heart. Participating in the session and being present is the greatest gift they can give you!
ARRIVE EARLY. Get to your session AT LEAST 15 minutes early. It will take a few minutes just to walk to the location where I will be shooting. This will help you to not feel so rushed, maybe dust the crumbs off the clothes, wipe away the boogies and un-frazzle from the car ride. It’s very important that you are on time because I have to move forward with my next scheduled session.
NO WHITE SOCKS. Plain and simple - no white socks!
